Cuzco (or Cusco) comes from "Qusqu" in Quechua, the native language of the ancient capital of the Inca empire. It is a city of altitude (3400 m) quite hilly and very seductive. It contains mixtures of different architectural eras. Despite a relatively large population (over 300 000), one has the impression of being in a large village in the center but, taking the height, one quickly realizes that the houses climb the slopes the surrounding mountains.
