The current building consists of a wooden framework partly dating back to 1575. It was used as a covered market to sell canvasses or grain. On Sundays and Whit Monday certain guilds invited the parish poor to a great "frairie" (festivity with generous meal) where the" unfortunate" would come and eat at tables installed in the market hall.
