The canal of Garonne, called also "side canal of the Garonne", is less famous than the canal du Midi. But he deserves more than a detour, to discover his history and the rich regions which it traverses. From Toulouse to Castets-en-Dorthe near Langon, crossing Agen, you can take advantage on foot, on bike and of course by boat, this magnificent inland waterway.

The "side" channel of the Garonne meanwhile was built later in the nineteenth century and will thus complete this connection of the two seas. It connects at CASTETS TOULOUSE (near LANGON to Bordeaux), allowing boats to connect the Atlantic continuing the "navigable Garonne" then the Gironde.
